Eat Inspiration for Breakfast: 3 Keys for Waking Up with Positivity

Do you wake up feeling extreme inspiration everyday?

Let’s face it, we all have days when we just aren’t “feeling it”. But what if you could face each morning with a new sense of enthusiasm for all that you need to do and be? You’d probably get more done, be more creative, and start your day a lot more focused.

So how, exactly, do you do that? Here are 3 quick tips for waking up with inspiration, to welcome each day with a positive attitude so you can accomplish your more and have fun doing it:

1) Create an inspiring physical space.

Here’s where you set the stage. Whether it’s art, family photos, soothing colors, or your favorite books, surround yourself with items that ignite your passion. The photo here is an example of a DIY project I found at Better Homes and Gardens. Of all things, it’s a shower curtain, used as a headboard, custom-made with your own inspirational quotes! Here’s another headboard that I made using a shower curtain. Spend time on this step and you’ll set yourself up for inspiration to begin to flow your way.

2) Reflect.

This will mean different things for different people. It’s simply quiet time in the morning that you use to set the stage for your mind and spirit, just as you set the stage for your physical environment.

Use this time to make your to-do list, meditate, read a few pages from a personal development book, or do your daily devotions. Know the reasons WHY you will do the things you will do for the day. Live with intention and on purpose, not just going through the motions. You’ll be amazed at how focused your day becomes.

3) Challenge yourself.

It is difficult to find inspiration by following the same old routine, day in and day out. Doing the same tasks, watching the same television shows, working at the same job, and meeting with the same people over and over again may be the more comfortable thing to do, but being comfortable doesn’t always lead to inspiration. In fact, sometimes being uncomfortable, and moving in the direction of a challenge can make us a little anxious, but that may be just the missing ingredient needed.

Engage in your life, live it with passion, and challenge yourself to do more with it each day!

Living in inspiration doesn’t happen by accident. “Eating inspiration for breakfast” means making a choice. It may come to you in different ways and from various directions, but listen for it, watch for it, be open to your opportunities, and it will come. Once you find it, grab on and reach your dreams.
