Favorite Verses for a New Day: I Can Handle It

Favorite Verses for a New Day

Ever start a new day wishing you’d woken up on the other side of the bed? It happens to us all. Maybe you let the “busyness” of your day start in your head and your spirit before your feet even touched the floor. Why not take a pause and spend some quiet time before the day gets away from you? You just might find yourself more grounded and ready for what life tries to throw at you, with a peace in your heart that can carry you through until the evening.

Here’s some morning “soul food” for you (or any time of day, really). Enjoy some of my favorite Bible verses, to remind you that EVERY day is a new day and no matter what, remember that you are given an amazing gift each morning. It’s up to you to make it count!

Keep scrolling down for an inspirational video from Pastor Steven Furtick (that you will definitely want to play on repeat over and over)! I’ve transcribed the lyrics below too, so you can pin/save for those mornings when you need to give yourself a super charged, spirit-filled pep talk!

I can handle it

Verses for a New Day

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV)

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Luke 1:78 (NIV)

A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful.

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)

18Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Ephesians 4:22-24 (NIV)

22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds;24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV)

13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 6:11 (NIV)

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

I Can Handle It (VIDEO by Steven Furtick)

I told you! Just WOW, right???

Here are the lyrics to Pastor Steven’s video in text form and as a PIN at the bottom of the post (If you scroll down there is a link to download a pdf of these lyrics).

I Can Handle It
(Steven Furtick, Elevation Church)

Today is a new day
It will bring brand new blessings and brand new battles
But within every uncertainty there is hidden possibility
So I don’t dread any challenge that lies ahead
Because I remember all the victories behind
and my confidence is not in my circumstance.
The spirit of God is my supply.

I’m steady under pressure and I’m ready for whatever
‘cause whatever comes my way today, the outcome is –  I overcome
Christ is in me, I am enough, I can handle it
I can’t afford to stay afraid, or let my faith hesitate
My purpose is at stake and He who called me is faithful
His strength in me is greater than any pain I feel or enemy I face.

The promise of God is mine for the taking.
Every plan He has made is guaranteed to come to pass. It will happen
If I don’t back down, if I won’t let go. It will happen
If I don’t stop short, if I won’t sell out. It will happen – by faith
But faith doesn’t take the fear away, it teaches me to fight it.
So bring the battle, I’m ready now. I got something for Goliath. I can handle it.

My power flows from presence so I won’t stay stuck in what was or worry about what will be.
My regrets have been redeemed, and my tests have become my lessons.
My focus is fixed and my heart is expectant. I’m set.

I’m not nervous about what’s next ‘cause my eyes are on the throne.
I trust the one who’s in complete control.
The one who already knows how He’s gonna work it according to His purpose.
Even the worst situations are sure to turn in my favor.
If I keep moving forward, keep moving toward Him
God is with me in this moment, and whatever happens – I can handle it

I know my help comes from above, so if fear insists on knocking, I’ll meet it at the door.
Life might give me bad news, but I’ve still got a good report. I can handle it
If I fall, if I fail. I’ll handle it
Grace will give me what it takes to carry on. I can handle it

I have humbled myself under the mighty hand of God.
Christ is in me, I am enough, and when the time is right, He’ll lift me up.
Until then the lion may roar, but I see his leash. So I keep moving forward.
‘Cause I’ve been down before, but my hope knows how to bounce back from rock bottom.
What I need, God’s got it!

And I’m stronger, I’m better, it’s settled, I’m ready
I’m focused, I’m hopeful, no hiding, I’m ready
I’m stronger, I’m better, it’s settled, I’m ready, I’m focused, I’m hopeful, no hiding, I’m ready
I’m stronger, I’m better, it’s settled, I’m ready. Resilient, Dependent, I know He’ll deliver
I’m strong and courageous. The One who is able is greater than all.
Bring it on. In His name!
I can handle it!

Now go and take on the day!
